Why I Take This Work Seriously

I want to explain why I approach my content the way I do, because it’s not random and it’s not casual.
Over time, I started noticing a pattern in how Black history was being discussed. It wasn’t always removed outright. In many cases, it was simplified, reframed, or presented in ways that left out key context.

That matters more than people think. When history is incomplete, people don’t just miss information. They misunderstand how systems work. They misinterpret why certain outcomes exist.
That misunderstanding doesn’t stay in conversations. It shows up in how people think about policy, how they vote, and how they respond to issues that affect real communities.
For me, that created a sense of urgency. I’m not interested in reacting to every headline. I’m focused on building something that helps people understand the full picture.
That’s why my work is structured the way it is. Every piece of content is researched. It’s written with intention. I don’t approach topics unprepared because I want people to be able to trust what they’re learning. I can’t approach this casually because this isn’t casual for me.
This is also personal.
I’m thinking about the next generation. I’m thinking about what my children and future grandchildren will have access to when they’re trying to understand their history.
If the information available to them is incomplete or inaccurate, that affects how they see themselves and how they interpret the world around them.
I’m not willing to leave that to chance.
There’s also a broader impact. When history is misrepresented, it becomes easier for harmful narratives to take hold. It becomes easier to dismiss real issues or misunderstand their origins.
That’s why preservation matters. Not as an abstract idea, but as something that directly affects how people understand and engage with the world.
When I create guides, courses, and content, that’s the goal. To make accurate information accessible and consistent. To give people something they can come back to and rely on.
And when I ask for support, that’s what you’re supporting.
You’re supporting work that is intentional, researched, and built to preserve something that is too important to lose.
Follow on YouTube for full breakdowns, Instagram for quick explanations, Substack for deeper analysis, and Patreon for full access to guides, courses, and archived content. Each platform builds on the other so you’re not just seeing information, you’re understanding it.
